We are super excited to announce that on SUNDAY 6th FEBRUARY we are hosting a full day competition in collaboration with Rab for Climbers Against Cancer. As 4th February is World Cancer Day all proceeds from the day are going to CAC.
This will be a full day event with 2 separate qualifiers; one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and separate mens/womens finals in the evening for the open age category. There will be no finals for juniors (under 16yrs) but juniors are welcome to enter the open age group. The qualifiers will consist of 25 problems. The top 10 women and top 10 men from both qualifiers combined will then compete on the final 4 blocs. Both the finals will take place in the evening from 5pm.
Tickets are £12. Booking is required via the CAC website;
PLEASE NOTE: If you have a ticket, you can attend all day and make the most of everything else that is happening throughout the day. The separate tickets are purely to split up the climbing sessions.

Cold drinks will also be available from the cafe.
We will, as usual, be well stocked with Pepper’s Cottage Bakery cakes and treats. Along with Trek bars and crisps.
We will also be offering pizzas throughout the day along with beer for after climbing.
On site we have free parking, however this is likely to fill up on the day fairly quickly. We have a bus stop just outside the site which links to the bus station. Along with some more free parking which is 10 minutes walk from our site here. Wherever possible we encourage lift sharing, the event page is a good place to find out if anyone is coming from near you. Covered bike storage and limited bike locks are available too if you are pedal-powered.
New to our Centre?
If this will be your first visit to our centre please print off the registration form here and fill it in before arrival to keep admin to a minimum on the day.
🟦Do I need to be a comp climber to enter?
No, this is a fun comp that we are trying to make as inclusive as possible.
🟦Can we just turn up?
This is a ticketed event with tickets for sale through the Climbers Against Cancer website for £12.
🟦Can we just come and climb normally that day?
Due to the scale of the competition the centre will be closing at 3pm on Saturday 5th to the public.
🟦If I do the morning qualifier do I need to leave before the final?
If you do the morning qualifiers, you can stay around the centre all day. We will have other activities on, but to try and keep numbers on the mats down you won’t be able to continue climbing once your slot is finished.
🟦 Can I come in as a spectator?
Due to numbers in the centre we are keeping spectators to a minimum. If you wish to watch, you must buy a ticket. The only exception will be people supervising junior entrants.
🟦 Will food and drink be available during the day?
Yes, teas and coffees and cold drinks will be available to purchase all day. Cakes, snacks and pizzas will also be available.
