Dates for your Diary – May

Hello all you happy climbing people, here at The Climbing Unit we have a bunch of stuff happening throughout May.

Make sure you save these dates so you don’t miss out!

Monday 6th May bank holiday

Firstly a quick note about Monday 6th May bank holiday, hope you’re all looking forward to it, I know I certainly am! As usual we will be closing 2 hours early and kicking you all out at 8pm so that our hard-working staff can have a bit of a break.

Friday 10th of May! -SBL

May-time also means the return of our much anticipated Summer Boulder League! Round 1 will kick off on Friday 10th of May! With the sun making an uncharacteristic early appearance this year we decided that the 1-night comp format would become too much of a sweat-fest so we’re giving you 3-4 whole weeks to complete as many problems as you can each round for a more chilled out vibe. Your Round 1 Scorecards will need to be handed in by Sunday 9th June. Watch this space for more info.

Thursday 16th May, 5pm onwards

We are hosting an Ocun Shoe Demo. This shoe brand is sported by our very own Seb Musson, who competes as part of the British Para-Climbing Team. Ocun will be bringing a wide selection of shoes, ranging from beginner/comfort shoes all the way up to competition/crippling shoes, for all your climbing needs. Whether it’s your first pair of climbing shoes or you’ve finally gone through the rubber on your beginner shoes and are looking for a step up, you will be able to climb before you buy in all the demo shoes for complete peace of mind.  With discounts of 20% if you order on the night what more excuse do you need to get a new pair of climbing shoes?

Thursday 30th May

We will be hosting a Tokyo Powder Chalk demo – yes you read that right, a Chalk demo, but Chalk is just Chalk right? . . . Wrong! and the guys from Dark Ventures will be here to explain why! With different chalk blends catered to different skin types, you’ll be able to try out chalk from across the Tokyo Powder range. Giving you friction so good it feels like cheating; come and see what the fuss is all about.
