Round 2 of The Winter Bouldering League 2014
Some funky text….
Some funky pictures….
The cold winter evenings may be closing in but our winter league is already hotting up with 130 competitors cramming in to sample the funky new blocs, and for some to battle it out for the victory. We had a record number of first time competitors coming to see what all the fuss is about. Most cruised through the first ten dispelling any notion that these competitions are elitist.
However; as seems to be becoming a tradition, problem 12 saw off many an experienced climber making for an entertaining sight as they flailed about trying to make sense of the holds. On the other end of the spectrum, all the best had turned up with a couple of GB team members making an appearance. The men’s field was extremely close but perhaps more impressive was the women with first place beating all but two of the men. There were more good scores coming from the “strong youths” in the junior categories giving the seniors a run for their money.
Everyone had a good night whether they were there for the first time, a seasoned vet in it to win it, or the mere mortals in between, having a bit of friendly rivalry with their mates. In the end it was good climbing, good music and most importantly good people that keeps making our competitions get better and better.
Ladies and gentlemen….. November results
Remember it’s best of four rounds so be sure to keep your eye out for next comp which takes place on December 12th!
Thanks for everything as always…..
